The Rink coffee table immediately brings to mind a classic ice hockey rink. The "boards" are made of vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö. The tabletop is crafted from solid oak and is made in Sweden.

Product Description

Combining many materials is a challenge. In Rink, four of them coexist – metal, brass, wood, and leather. Each has been given a great place and form, together creating the table's unique character. Rink is available with a black or white-glazed oak veneer top and a black steel base with brass and leather details.

Care instructions

Rink consists of a tabletop made of wood. The wood needs love and care occasionally. Apply a small amount of oil wax to a cloth and spread a thin layer. Let it dry for 20 minutes and polish the tabletop. Now it is happy! Furniture made of solid wood or veneer is affected by the warmth and humidity of the air. Do not place the furniture too close to a radiator or in a damp room. Wipe the table surface clean with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Wipe dry afterwards with a dry cloth. To protect the leather edge against spills and stains, we recommend using a protective product called Leather Protection Cream. Regular treatment improves wear resistance and provides better surface protection and resilience should an accident occur.

Eva Schildt

Since growing up on an island in the Stockholm archipelago, the sea and the stark environment have been a constant companion in Eva Schildt's artistic creativity. Since graduating in furniture and product design from Beckmans College of Design in 2001, Eva has designed everything from furniture and textiles to packaging and trade show exhibitions. She also works as an interior architect.

Eva Schildt is convinced that people do not change much over time. Instead, it is the surroundings that are in constant flux. This conviction is something that reflects her design. With humility, Eva combines tradition with a small dose of modernity – a respectful provocation.

The materials and techniques vary; sometimes it is about craftsmanship, other times about mass production. Inspired by nature, her designs, which are often sculptural, have almost always included elements of both humor and multifunctionality.

Eva Schildt's playful approach to everyday life and her warm personality are recurring themes in her design, which is now represented internationally. She is currently based in Stockholm, but has previously lived in Tokyo and collaborated with several Japanese companies.

Eva Schildt's work is represented at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg.

"Behind all design is a human, an experience. People often have something to say. If you really want to touch someone, you need to expose yourself without fear of being perceived as superfluous," says Eva Schildt.
