The weather affects our days, our moods, and our conversations. Yet, weather forecasts have long been something we quickly check and just as quickly forget. In a world full of screens, Skymill takes an entirely new approach to the weather. Skymill is a kinetic sculpture that brings the weather forecast to life in a truly tangible way.
Skymill translates weather data into motion, completely screen-free. By combining 9 different weather symbols, Skymill can display over 35 unique weather conditions. The symbols move and change in real-time based on the current forecast, creating a visual and physical interpretation of the weather.
You see how the wind blows, the clouds roll in, or the sun peeks out – not through numbers, but through movement. A new way to experience something as mundane as the weather. With a simple press of the button on the base, you can also see how the weather is expected to develop several hours ahead, in that same vivid way.

Skymill is the result of a close collaboration between us at Klong and designer Gustav Rosén. Together, we have created an object where function, material, and form merge into something lasting – an object to live with for a long time, one that sparks curiosity and never ceases to fascinate.
Gustav Rosén is a Swedish designer with a clear vision: to unite precision mechanics with a poetic expression. With a background in both IT concept development and product design, he has designed furniture, lighting, and everyday objects where functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand.
The driving force behind Gustav's design is his curiosity about movement, interaction, and how things influence our lives. Skymill is an expression of this fascination – a poetic interpretation of weather data, where the shifts of nature become a living experience in the home.

Skymill was launched on Kickstarter in the spring of 2025 and development continues. We are currently preparing the first 50 units for testing and certification, while planning for the first major production run. During the autumn of 2026, Skymill will be available at klong.com.
